TRIO Educational Talent Search

TRIO Educational Talent Search at Southeast Campus is a federally funded program that promotes and prepares middle and high school students for college success.

This program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to encourage youth from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete high school and their postsecondary education.

How will TRIO Educational Talent Search support me?

Educational Talent Search provides these services free of charge:

  • Academic advisement
  • Career exploration activities
  • College admissions assistance
  • College tours and cultural field trips
  • Financial literacy workshops
  • Mentoring
  • SAT and ACT prep and waivers
  • Scholarship application assistance
  • Tutoring

Am I eligible for TRIO Educational Talent Search?

You are eligible to participate if you are:

  • At least 11 years old
  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident (must provide a copy of resident card)
  • Low-income (review current-year low-income levels)
  • A first-generation college student (neither parent has received a four-year degree)
  • Attending one of the following schools:
    • Bowie High School
    • Lamar High School
    • Barnett Junior High School
    • Nichols Junior High School
    • Shackelford Junior High School

How do I apply for TRIO Educational Talent Search?

Complete all sections of the online TRIO Educational Talent Search Student and Parent Application.

Incomplete applications will be delayed.
