How to Apply to Nursing

Application Timeline

Spring Admission

For Fast-Track & Traditional Applicants

  • August 1–September 30, 2024: Application for Spring 2025 admission available
  • September 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.: Application deadline
    • Duplicate, incomplete, or late applications will not be accepted.
  • October 7, 2024 (end of business day): Candidates notified of their status

Follow these steps to apply to Nursing:

Step 1: Apply to TCC

Apply online with ApplyTCC (use Firefox or Chrome for the best experience)

Once you are accepted as a student at TCC, you will get a TCC Student ID number.

You need a TCC Student ID number for your application to Nursing.

Reminder

Admission to TCC does not automatically guarantee admission to the Nursing program.

After being accepted to TCC, you must:

  1. Meet the selective admission requirements to be eligible for our program
  2. Submit a separate program application to Nursing
    • All applicants will be ranked based on their program applications.

Step 3: Get current official transcripts

You will need to submit your official college transcripts from all colleges and schools you have attended to the TCC Admissions and Registrar Office.

If you have not attended college or if you will have fewer than 12 college semester hours by the application deadline, you will need to submit your official high school transcript(s).

International Students

You must submit a transcript evaluation if you are an international student.

Step 4: Take the required admissions exam

Before you apply to Nursing, you must take the Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) A2 Assessment.

You can take the HESI A2 exam online through ProctorU or in-person at the Trinity River Campus Testing Center.

Step 5: Meet an English readiness requirement—if English is not your first language

You must meet one of the following:

Take 1 of these 2 tests before applying to Nursing:

or

Hold 1 of these credentials before applying to Nursing:

  • U.S. associate degree
    or
  • U.S. healthcare license
