Utility Outage

Report any utility outages to the TCCD Police Dispatch as 817-515-8911. They will contact the campus plant superintendent and send officers to assist. If power is no restored quickly, you should:

1. Remain calm.
2. Evaluate areas for hazards created by the power outage. If it safe to do so, secure hazardous materials and shut down hazardous processes.
3. Turn off and/or unplug nonessential electrical equipment, computer equipment and appliances. Keep refrigerators and freezers closed through the outage to help keep them code.
4. Use flashlights in area not serviced by emergency lighting.
5. Follow faculty and staff to a safe location, such as outside or another building with power.

If campus telephones are out of order, your personal cell phone may still work.
