Am I eligible for a FORWARD loan?

To be eligible for a FORWARD loan, you must:

Eligibility for the program ends two years from the start of the semester in which you received your first FORWARD loan payment.

How do I apply for a FORWARD loan?

Visit the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) website to learn how to apply for a FORWARD loan.

When will my FORWARD loan be disbursed?

Your Loan Consummation Disclosure, which you'll receive from HHLoans, will provide an estimated disbursement date.

The earliest that funds can be disbursed is 11 business days after you've been mailed your Loan Consummation Disclosure.

Is there a limit on how much I can borrow?

TCC encourages you to borrow only what you need to help cover your education expenses. This helps avoid building up a significant amount of student loan debt.

You may borrow up to the full cost of attendance, minus financial aid you're eligible for (including amounts not yet accepted).

What is the interest rate for a FORWARD loan?

Interest will start accruing on your loan from the first date of disbursement.

Interest is a fixed annual rate of 3.35% and is not capitalized.

When do I repay my FORWARD loan?

You have a six-month grace period for loan repayment beginning the date you cease to be enrolled at least half-time at TCC.

Monthly payments are calculated annually based on income, the monthly accrued interest on your FORWARD loan, and cumulative outstanding student loan principal balance.
