HESI A2 Exam Information
The HESI A2 Exam may be taken once every 60 days:
- In person at the Trinity River Campus Testing Center, or
- Online through ProctorU
When scheduling your exam, only choose one testing format (either in person or online). You cannot change your testing format once the exam is scheduled.
You may test 1 time per TCC application period. If you take the test more than 1 time, the exams must be at least 60 days apart. Results of the test will be available 48-72 hours after your test.

Sections Offered
The HESI A2 exam is a computerized multiple-choice exam.
You must take all sections listed below. Individual programs will determine the sections required for application.
- Reading Comprehension (55 questions)
- Vocabulary (55 questions)
- Grammar (55 questions)
- Math (55 questions; an on-screen calculator is available during testing)
- Anatomy and Physiology* (30 questions)
*Not all programs require the A&P section for application. See the application requirements for your intended program. If your intended program does not require the A&P section, your score on this section will be disregarded.
Sections Not Offered
TCC does not offer the following sections:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Personality Profile
- Learning Styles
- Critical Thinking

The official study guide Admission Assessment Exam Review, 5th edition can be purchased online at the Elsevier website.
Other non-official study guides are available at online retailers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
