How to Apply to Vocational Nursing

Fall Admission
- January 2–April 30, 2025: Application for Fall 2025 admission available
- April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.: Application deadline
- Duplicate, incomplete, or late applications will not be accepted.
- May 16, 2025 (end of business day): Candidates notified of their status
Follow these steps to apply to Vocational Nursing:
Step 1: Apply to TCC
Apply online with ApplyTCC (use Firefox or Chrome for the best experience)

Once you are accepted as a student at TCC, you will get a TCC Student ID number.
You need a TCC Student ID number for your application to Vocational Nursing.
Reminder
Admission to TCC does not automatically guarantee admission to the Vocational Nursing program.
After being accepted to TCC, you must:
- Meet the selective admission requirements to be eligible for our program
- Submit a separate program application to Vocational Nursing
- All applicants will be ranked based on their program applications.

Step 3: Get current official transcripts
You will need to submit your official college transcripts from all colleges and schools you have attended to the TCC Admissions and Registrar Office.
If you have not attended college or if you will have fewer than 12 college semester hours by the application deadline, you will need to submit your official high school transcript(s).
International Students
Contact International Student Admissions & Compliance (817-515-1570) at least 8 weeks before the application deadline to schedule an appointment if you have international transcripts.
Step 4: Take required admissions exams before you apply

Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) Admission Exam
You can take the HESI A2 exam online through ProctorU or in-person at the Trinity River Campus Testing Center.

Submit your scores for all 5 sections:
- Reading Comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Math
- Anatomy & Physiology

If English is not your first language
You will need to take one of the following English readiness exams:

Step 6: Plan to attend a Group Advisement Session
Group Advisement Session dates will be posted on Vocational Nursing as soon as they are scheduled.
Step 7: Submit your application by the deadline
Fill out and submit your online application during an open application period.
- Complete and electronically sign your online application.
- We will not accept paper applications.
- Submit your immunization form or documentation of immunizations.
- Submit required supporting materials.
We will not accept late applications.
