How Our Program Works
Selective Admission
Dental Hygiene is a selective admission program.
This means that after being accepted to TCC and meeting our selective admission requirements, you submit a separate application to our Dental Hygiene program.

Time Commitment
There is little to no time for outside work during the program.
You must also be able to plan your other coursework around the schedule of core Dental Hygiene courses.
Patient contact begins the 1st semester of the program.
Part-time, evening, weekend, and distance learning options are not available.
Schedule
Classes meet Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Grades
Successful completion of this program requires a grade of 75 percent or better in all Dental Hygiene courses.
Cost
Approximately $20,817 (includes courses, books, immunizations, prerequisites, etc.)

Financial Aid
To maintain full-time student status and keep your financial aid, wait to take the following required courses until after you are accepted into the Dental Hygiene program:
- ENGL–1301 English Composition I
- PSYC–2301 General Psychology
or
PSYC–2315 Psychology of Adjustment - Sociology elective
- Creative arts/language, culture and philosophy elective

When are upcoming classes?
- Go to MyTCCTrack: Search for Courses & Course Sections—Advanced Search.
- Under Term, select a Continuing Education (CE) Term.
- Example: 2025QS CE Spring
- Under Academic Level, choose Continuing Education.
- Select Search.
- Use the Filter Results menu to help you narrow your search:
- Under Availability, choose Open Sections Only to find classes that aren't full.
- Under Subject, choose a subject to further filter the results.
