Student Achievement Goals
In support of the Institution’s mission statement, to provide affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning, TCCD’s student achievement goals are as follows:
- Promote student retention and subsequent graduation for credential-seeking students
- Improve the academic performance of our students by successful course completion (attain a grade of A, B, C, or CR)
- Provide a path for transfer students to further their studies
- Provide career pathways for our students to pursue gainful employment and attain relevant professional certifications and licensure
- Provide alternative modes of instruction including distance learning for the convenience and accessibility of our students.
In this regard, TCCD monitors the relevant performance indicators associated with these goals and determines thresholds and targets. These indicators are:

Thresholds of Acceptability & Targets
TCCD established target levels of performance with supporting evidence provided by TCCD Institutional Research and final recommendations from a College-wide team for a 5-year period starting in the 2019–2020 academic year. The indicators are monitored annually with adjustments made as needed.

TCCD tracks the NSC 6-Year Graduation Rates as a standard for review and analysis. The minimum threshold of acceptance for TCCD is 37.2% and our aspirational target is 42.1% over 5 years. Our last 6-year graduating percentage was 40.5% for the 2015 Cohort of TCCD graduates.
