Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Students
To meet cybersecurity mandates set by the federal government, students are required to enroll in multi-factor authentication to access TCC accounts and systems.
You will use text messages (SMS) sent to your mobile device to authenticate when you log in.
What is multi-factor authentication?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides a second layer of security to your online TCC (Tarrant County College) accounts. To verify your identity, it requires extra information in addition to your password.
Using MFA can help TCC protect your information from remote cyber-attacks that may exploit stolen usernames and passwords.
How do I enroll in MFA?
To enroll, log in to Microsoft 365 and update your security info to set up MFA.
For more help, follow the instructions to set up your mobile device for MFA.
What if I do not want to enroll in MFA?
Protecting the data and information of our students, faculty and staff is a top priority for TCC.
To remain in compliance with federal mandates, expand account security, and protect your data, MFA is required for all students, faculty, and staff.
You will not be able to access your TCC accounts until you have enrolled in MFA.
What if I do not have a device that supports MFA?
Call the 24/7 Help Desk at 817-515-8324 (TECH) to request a Temporary Access Password (TAP). This is a pin number you will use to authenticate and is active for 30 days.
Follow instructions for requesting and using a Temporary Access Password.
What are the locations of the phones to request a Temporary Access Password?
If you are unable to call the Help Desk on a personal device, we have phones available at each campus for you to use to request a TAP.
You can locate the phones at the following locations:
