Graduation Requirements and Application
You must meet the following graduation requirements to earn your associate degree or certificate of completion from TCC.
Degrees and certificates are awarded at the end of the term in which they were earned (in August, December and May). Generally, credits do not expire for graduation purposes.
Associate Degree Graduation Requirements
- Earn a minimum of 25% of the semester credit hours required for the degree at TCC.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all TCC courses.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all courses presented for graduation.
- Complete all degree requirements satisfactorily.
- Resolve all financial obligations to the College.
Subsequent associate's degrees
After you have earned one associate of arts (AA) or associate of science (AS) degree, for each additional AA or AS degree you must complete an additional 15 credit hours at TCC that were not applied to your earned AA or AS degree.
AA and AS degrees are designed for students who plan to transfer, with the next goal of earning a bachelor's degree. To focus on the courses you need for transfer, make an appointment early in your studies with a career advisor or one of our transfer centers.
Associate of applied science (AAS) degree programs require unique additional coursework for each program.
Certificate of Completion Graduation Requirements
- Earn a minimum of 25% of the semester credit hours required for the certificate at TCC.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all courses presented for graduation.
- Complete all certificate requirements satisfactorily.
- Resolve all financial obligations to the College.
Applying for Graduation
TCC automatically graduates students who meet graduation requirements and have a valid program of study on record.
However, you are encouraged to submit the Graduation Interest Form, located in the Graduation Overview area of MyTCCTrack.
Submitting this form ensures the correct name is printed on your diploma and that the correct address is on file for us to mail you your diploma. Learn more about diplomas.
You must submit the form during the same term in which you will meet all degree/certificate requirements. Graduation processing occurs at the end of every term. During these processing times, the form will be unavailable for submission.
You should submit this form even if you do not plan to participate in the annual commencement ceremony.
Participating in Commencement Ceremony
Commencement is the annual event where TCC formally recognizes our graduates.
Graduating does not automatically mean you are registered to walk during TCC's commencement ceremony.
