Program Goals & Student Learning Outcomes: Nuclear Medicine Technology

Goals

  • Goal 1: Provide a fully accredited course of study for earning a 2-year Associate of Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Goal 2: Prepare you to enter the field of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Goal 3: Encourage you to continue your education beyond our Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)

Our Nuclear Medicine Technology Program student learning outcomes are directly related to the requirement standards of the external accrediting agency and assure educational excellence for all students in our program.

After completing our program, our students will:

  • SLO #1: Communication and Writing Skills 
    • Demonstrate appropriate and professional oral communication and writing skills.
  • SLO #2: Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
    • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • SLO #3: Clinical Competency
    • Demonstrate proficiency in entry-level clinical skills.
  • SLO #4: Patient Care
    • Demonstrate proper patient care.
  • SLO #5: Radiopharmaceutical Preparation
    • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and demonstrate radiation protection techniques and knowledge of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concepts.
  • SLO #6: Nuclear Medicine Procedures
    • Describe imaging procedures, physics, and instrumentation related to nuclear medicine technology.
