Privacy Program at TCC
Mission Statement
TCCD ('the College') exists in an ever-evolving landscape of data accessibility and privacy.
Privacy is recognized as a balance between the rights of the individual; whether student or employee, and the necessity of the College, government agencies, and vendors to conduct normal business and to improve the educational experience for all. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data collection can infer Personally Identifiable Information (PII) without having to request permission from the consumer.
To the extent possible, TCCD will be a good steward of PII at the institution and will practice data minimalization, collecting only what is needed, establish a clear policy for how long information will or must be kept and a timeline for deletion or destruction of information.
The College will release data as allowed by the student, employee, in compliance with the laws of jurisdiction, and will release de-identified or aggregate data as the preferred method of data dissemination.
